Our journey with matcha began while chasing our dream of opening a café in the greater Seattle area. We loved the art of crafting drinks and exploring new flavors, but it was during this time that matcha found its way into our hearts.

On a trip to Japan, wandering through Kyoto’s tea houses, we saw firsthand how matcha was more than just a drink, it was a way of life. We watched tea masters whisk vibrant green powder with precision and care, each movement carrying centuries of tradition. Every sip encouraged us to pause, be present, and appreciate the ritual.

That experience left a lasting impression. Matcha wasn’t just something to consume, it was something to participate in, to share, and to carry forward.

When we returned home, we knew we wanted to share that same experience. We weren’t interested in shortcuts or watered-down versions. We wanted to honor the craft we had witnessed in Japan. That meant sourcing our matcha directly from Japan, the source of the highest-quality first harvest (ceremonial grade) matcha.

Every tin of tea we bring to our customers is grown and harvested by farmers who carry generations of knowledge. From shading the tea fields to stone-grinding the leaves into fine powder, every step is done with care and intention.
